On Monday, a grand jury issued 19 indictments to Sarah and Jonathan Starr, and Sarah’s aunt Shelley Barnes, who possesses the Lexington, N.C., home where the kid was discovered.

Sarah was charged with 11 counts, including carelessness and youngster abuse; Jonathan was also charged with various counts of carelessness and kid abuse — their bond was set at $1 million each; and Barnes was charged with five counts, including assault on a kid and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Her bond was set to $300,000.

It was not satisfactory whether any of them had obtained an attorney who can speak on their behalf. Right away before 7 a.m. on Oct. 19, an anonymous neighbor called 911 and revealed a kid was allegedly locked inside a canine pet hotel in the backyard where he’d been for the time being, according to the public statement.

Representatives found the kid wearing a Shirt, jeans and no shoes after a night when temperatures reached underneath freezing, TV station WGHP detailed, citing a search warrant.

The youngster allegedly told law enforcement that he didn’t have a room in the house “because he resided outside,” the station detailed.

The kid was taken to a nearby hospital, as well as two youngsters who were inside the home.

Agents also had two additional kids eliminated from school so they could be evaluated, the public statement stated.

All five youngsters are in the care of Davidson Province Social Administrations.
